Can you share the story behind Chuckling Goat’s inception and what inspired its creation?

Chuckling Goat began not as a business idea, but as a personal mission rooted in love and necessity. When my young son Benji struggled with chronic bronchitis and severe eczema, conventional medicine offered little relief. Desperate for a solution, we began milking goats on our Welsh farm and making traditional goat’s milk kefir in our stone barn. To our amazement, Benji’s lungs and skin improved dramatically. Soon after, my husband Rich contracted a life-threatening MRSA infection. Once again, kefir-combined with essential oils-helped save him. Seeing the incredible impact of these natural remedies on my family’s health inspired me to share them with others. What started in our farmhouse kitchen has grown into Chuckling Goat-a brand dedicated to natural, effective gut and skin health. We believe no one should feel helpless in the face of chronic illness. Our journey is a testament to the healing power of nature, love, and persistence.

How did your personal experiences influence the development of Chuckling Goat’s products and mission?

Chuckling Goat is a direct reflection of my personal journey and the challenges my family faced. When conventional medicine failed to help my son’s eczema and bronchitis and later, my husband’s life-threatening MRSA infection. I turned to natural remedies out of desperation and determination. Drawing on my background in journalism, I dived deep into research, eventually discovering the healing potential of traditional goat’s milk kefir and essential oils. These remedies saved my family, and that experience transformed my life from a radio talk show host to a full-time kefir maker on a Welsh farm. Every product we create is born from that experience and built with intention, care, and the real hope of helping others find healing. Our mission isn’t just professional it’s deeply personal. We aim to support people who feel forgotten or hopeless in their health journeys, just as I once did. Chuckling Goat is more than a business; it’s a labour of love and purpose.

We’re also continuing to grow our team of Nutritional Therapists to offer even more personalised support, and our Gut Health Express newsletter delivers fresh, research-backed insights to our community every Friday. I never set out to be a founder or a CEO-just a mum trying to heal her child. But when I saw what kefir could do, I knew I had to share it. As the founder of Chuckling Goat, I lead with heart, not hierarchy. I’m a journalist-turned-goat farmer, a researcher, a writer, and most of all, a listener. I know what it’s like to feel lost in the face of illness, and that empathy fuels every decision I make. I steer our team with a mix of fierce determination and deep compassion. We’re a close-knit crew of scientists, farmers, and artisans who believe in doing what’s right-even when it’s hard. My job is to make sure that everything we do stays rooted in truth, care, and a genuine desire to help people heal.
